Being an islander can offer a more secluded and serene lifestyle, with access to beautiful beaches and natural surroundings. However, it may also come with challenges such as limited resources and isolation. On the other hand, being a mainland resident provides access to a wider range of amenities, services, and opportunities, but may also come with the hustle and bustle of city life. Ultimately, the choice between being an islander or a mainland resident depends on individual preferences and priorities. **

Additionally, Torres Strait Islander People have a stronger cultural connection to the sea and maritime traditions due to their islander heritage. **
